Frequently asked questions
The questions our technical desk receives most often.
- How many kW do I need for my space?
- Multiply the volume in m³ by the required temperature rise and by the dispersion coefficient, then divide by 860. For 1,000 m³ raised by 15 °C in a moderately insulated space that comes to about 14 kW.
- Can a direct-fired gas or diesel unit run indoors?
- Only in a space with enough fresh air supply, because all combustion gases and water vapour stay inside. In closed or occupied rooms use an indirect-fired or electric unit.
- What is the difference between an air circulator and a fan?
- An axial fan moves a large volume over a short distance and replaces the air. A circulator throws a directed jet far into the space and keeps the existing air moving.
- How long does it take to dry out a room?
- After water damage expect several days up to two weeks, depending on the amount of water, the materials and the temperature. Measure residual moisture instead of working to a fixed number of days.
- Can I hire a unit instead of buying one?
- Contact our desk: depending on the unit and the period we will look at which option works out best.
- Which fuel is most economical?
- Diesel gives the lowest cost per kWh over long running times and high outputs. Gas is lighter and starts faster. Electricity costs more per kWh but avoids combustion, a tank and burner maintenance.
- Are the units suitable for continuous use?
- The diesel and gas units are built for long running times; autonomy depends on tank capacity and hourly consumption, both listed in the specifications.
- Do you supply accessories and parts as well?
- Yes: flue kits, thermostats, air ducting and service kits are in the accessories range and on each relevant product page.
